JR Motorsports qualifying report

Sebring

Daniel Ramoutarsingh pilots the Trinrico Steel & Wire Products #18 Jaguar XKR to 6th place on the starting grid for Round 1 of the SCCA Pro Racing Trans Am Race from Sebring, FL

I couldn’t be more proud of our team, and really want to win for them

Daniel Ramoutarsingh

March 17, 2011 - Sebring, FL—Daniel Ramoutarsingh and JR Motorsports, has clinched 6th place on the starting grid, in the #18 Trinrico Steel & Wire Products Jaguar XKR during Round 1 of the 2011 SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series event from Sebring, Florida.

Daniel, 35 years old, is a native of Trinidad. He is the first born son of Jack Paul Ramoutarsingh, a founding member of the “Flying Tigers”… the first Trinidad & Tobago Motorsport Club. Daniel has been racing since 2000, where he ran in the “Carib” Stock Car Series, obtaining the Most Improved Driver Award, Winning the category 'Modified Production B' in the debut of the Trinrico Steel and Wire Products Limited Mirage. In 2009, Daniel won Rookie of the Year in the SCCA Pro Racing Trans Am Series.

Qualifying commenced at 9:30 am Thursday. JR Motorsports ran 2 solid laps before having an issue with the car that forced them into pit lane on lap 3. Lap 2 was an incredibly quick lap time of 2:05.442, resulting in a 6th place spot on the starting grid for Friday’s first round of the SCCA Pro Racing Trans Am event. “We’ve essentially used the first few practice sessions as a test, however, a private test session would have been preferred to shakedown the new package and team after a complete rebuild on the # 18 Jaguar XKR. We basically went into the qualifying session with an unknown set up. There were a few issues that we have been working thru, and are now moving forward with confidence. It is simply an honor to be here supporting the Trans Am Series!”, stated Daniel.

“We have put together a quality team of guys, with many years of experience. I couldn’t be more proud of our team, and really want to win for them, as well as Trinrico, and for all the good people that support us and have made themselves so valuable to our effort!”
