Lazzaro Sears Point race notes

Sonoma, Calif. - Anthony Lazzaro, driving the number 36 Motorcity True Performance Viper, drove to a fourth place finish at the Grand Prix of Sonoma Trans-Am race for the BF Goodrich Cup.

Starting from eighth position, Lazzaro drove a calculated race as he worked his way through the field. A mid-race yellow helped to bunch the field and Lazzaro was able to pass Johnny Miller on lap 34 for fourth place.

"The car was great under braking and through the esses. I was able to take advantage of Johnny Miller's tires going away and got by him in turn four. The longer the race went the better car felt. I am a guest in the series and I wanted to run a clean race and was able to take advantage of a couple of the guys who were running for the championship and being a little careful. I could take a few more chances and be a little more aggressive. The team did and excellent job, the car responded to well to each change we made. Tommy Archer has done a great job to develop this new car to this point and I was happy to fill his seat for the weekend," said Lazzaro.

"Anthony did a great job. He ran a nice clean race and was able to provide some valuable feedback for us going forward. Even though he is classified as a rookie he came into a new situation without having driven the car until yesterday morning, that is a testament to his ability," said Joe Tranchida, owner Cinjo Racing.

Lazzaro's fastest race lap was a 1:37.617.
