(October 25, 2000) Victoria Motorsports, and team owner Frank Cioppettini, are thrilled to announce that Linda Pobst (Melbourne, FL) will be driving the #6 Victoria Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro in Round 12 of the SCCA BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series at the Grand Prix of San Diego, November 5, 2000.

Linda, currently on the CART/PPG Pace car team, and, most recently, Pace Car driver at the 2000 Grand Prix of Houston, has an extensive racing background. Linda has been racing over 25 years in series such as SCCA, both Solo and Regional divisions, IMSA Firehawk Series as well as International Sedans Series. In addition to the Pace Car Team, Pobst has also instructed Ride and Drive Programs since 1995 for manufacturers such as Mercedes, GM, Chevrolet Corvette, Hyundai, Lexus and many more.

"This is just like a dream come true for me," stated Linda. "I have a million different emotions going through me all at once!" Linda will pilot the #6 Victoria Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro along with teammates Stu Hayner (Trenton Forging #98) and Willy T. Ribbs (Simple Green #16), around the 1.6 mile temporary circuit at the former Naval Training Center just minutes from downtown San Diego.

The race will take place on Sunday, November 5 at 12:15 PM (Pacific Time) and will be televised live on the Speedvision Network.
