ROCKETSPORTS IS STRONG IN PRACTICE FOR THE CYTOMAX CHALLENGE
LONG BEACH, CALIF. (April 8, 2005) Four-time Trans-Am Series Champion, Paul Gentilozzi set fast time during the morning practice session in the No. 1 Jaguar R Performance XKR. In second round practice, Gentilozzi went nearly a half of second faster running a lap time of 1:22.923, but wound up second on the time sheet to Boris Said. Klaus Graf set the fourth fastest lap in practice piloting his No. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR around the 1.968 mile street course in 1:23.581.
The five-time winner on the streets of Long Beach was pleased with performance of his Jaguar powered by the production based, four-valve Jaguar AJ-V8. "We have a fast car," said Gentilozzi. "The engine is performing great, we're in good shape for qualifying and the race on Sunday."
Although Graff turned his first laps on the streets of Long Beach today, he is confident of his chances for a top-three starting position for Sundays Cytomax Challenge. "The track is very fun to drive," said Graf. "We need to work on the set-up a little bit more but we're getting there. I am looking for a top three qualifying position in the morning and excellent results in the race."
Qualifying for the Cytomax Challenge is scheduled for 12:45 am Eastern Time. Visit the Trans-Am Series website for live timing and scoring at www.trans-amseries.com.
