PETERSEN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM TRIBUTE TO THE TRANS-AM: The Petersen Automotive Museum is hosting a Tribute to the Trans-Am, Saturday, January 30, 1999, at 6 p.m., at the Petersen Automotive Museum, 6060 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, Calif. The gala features former Trans-Am stars and other special guests, including George Follmer, Dan Gurney, Jim Hall, Parnelli Jones, Milt Minter and Carroll Shelby. On display will be several restored Trans-Am cars, such as the Sunoco Camaro, the Bud Moore Mustang and Roy Woods’ Javelin. The tribute also includes no-host cocktails, dinner and vintage film footage, and costs $45 per person. TRANS-AM, WORLD CHALLENGE RACE GUIDE PHOTO/BIO DEADLINE EXTENDED: The 1999 SCCA Pro Racing Race Guide head-shot and biography deadline for all BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series and Speedvision World Challenge drivers has been extended to January 29, 1999. To meet a pre-Long Beach publication deadline, we will NOT be taking head-shot photos at any events, and therefore everyone's cooperation is needed in obtaining a current photo (1998 photos will not be used in 1999). In an effort to present each series in a professional manner, any bio that is sent without a driver photo will NOT BE PUBLISHED in the Race Guide.
