Rittinger New Series General Manager

RITTINGER NAMED NTB TRANS-AM SERIES GENERAL MANAGER

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (March 27, 1998) -- Scott G. Rittinger, of Boulder, Colo., has been named NTB Trans-Am Series General Manager.

Rittinger, 34, joins the NTB Trans-Am Series with 10 years of product marketing and research experience, and a life-long interest in racing.

"This is an opportunity to combine two of my greatest passions -- an inexhaustible interest in motorsports and a successful marketing career," said Rittinger. "I spent the first 14 years of my life studying and fantasizing about special interest vehicles, and the remainder of it working on and playing with them. As the NTB Trans-Am Series General Manager, I will be able to combine my passion for racing with my professional background in marketing."

Rittinger earned an MBA in marketing from the University of Colorado, and has since enjoyed success as an operations manager, a project manager and a director of marketing and communications.

"With the addition of Scott Rittinger, the NTB Trans-Am Series now has in place all of the elements to elevate the series to the next level of success," said K.C. Van Niman, SCCA Pro Racing President and CEO. "Scott will manage all functions of the NTB Trans-Am Series, and his marketing training and experience will be invaluable in creating a higher-profile Trans-Am series."

Most recently, Rittinger served as the product marketing manager for Astarte Fiber Networks, Inc. in Boulder -- a manufacturer of fiber optic switching systems for communications networks -- where he led the strategic marketing, communications and brand management efforts for multiple product lines.

"I am excited about the challenge of re-establishing the NTB Trans-Am identity as the pinnacle of road racing," added Rittinger. "I want to position the NTB Trans-Am Series brand as one of the world's best motor racing championships."

Rittinger will join the NTB Trans-Am Series staff full-time April 13.
