Brady Short, 2B Racing/Lucas Oil Products Team Chase USAC to Richmond

FAIRMOUNT, Ind. (June 27, 2007) -- Brady Short and the 2B Racing/Lucas Oil Products Gaerte-Powered Maxim Chassis team had a much-needed break last weekend, and are prepared to head to Richmond International Raceway for this Friday's United States Auto Club (USAC) 60-lap Shootout event, which is part of the Indy Racing League's "Sun Trust Indy Challenge."

Sitting in third place in the USAC driver points, Short is looking forward to redemption at RIR this weekend.

"Last year, driving my dad's race car, we didn't finish very well at Richmond," commented Short. "Scott (Benic, car owner) and the guys have been working really hard to turn our pavement program around, and we are looking at Richmond to give us the much-needed kick that we are looking for."

That kick is exactly what the 2B team is looking for on pavement, as the next two USAC events will be contested on pavement. The 2B Racing/Lucas Oil Products team will be heading to Toledo Speedway and the Mansfield Motorsports Park July 6 and 7, which will be their final events before the infamous USAC Indiana Sprint Week. Indiana Sprint Week consists of eight races in ten days at six different tracks.

"I'm looking forward to the month of July on our schedule," noted Short. "We will be at a lot of tracks that both Scott and I are comfortable and confident at, so hopefully we can make up some more points on Levi (Jones, USAC Point Leader) and Darren (Hagen, who sits in second place)."
