SCOTT HOLDS CAROLINA/VIRGINIA FOCUS POINTS LEAD HEADING INTO SUNDAY'S EVENT

Defending USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car Series champion Chase Scott leads his fellow series competitors into Sunday's scheduled event at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, N.C.

The Concord, N.C. native leads Robbie Ray by 17 points heading into this weekend's action at the 4/10-mile track, the first at the facility this season. Scott has three wins on the year while Ray has scored two, combining for five of the six race victories this season.

Scott won last year's race at Friendship and continues to "chase" the all-time Ford Focus victory record. His total is 12, now one behind Josh Lakatos and two behind Tate Martz, who added his 14th on Saturday in the Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car Series.
