FF: California series Visalia wrapup

Chris Rahe of Placentia, Calif. led all 20 laps of Friday night's USAC California Ford Focus Midget Car race at Plaza Park Speedway in Visalia, Calif. The win was his second in a row, following a victory at Perris, Calif. a week earlier.

Rahe and his Panelite Eng./JMI Stealth were followed at the checkered flag by Josh Lakatos, Garratt Boyden, Ryan Kaplan and Bradley Galedrige. Lakatos emerged as the new North Series leader by virtue of his finish, coupled with former series leader Todd Hunsaker's flip on lap 17 of the race. Hunsaker escaped injury, as did Thomas Meseraull, who flipped one lap later.

The California Ford Focus Midget Car Series continues this Saturday night with a program of events at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., offering points toward the North Series championship.

Hunsaker, last year's USAC Ford Focus Midget Champion, continues to lead the standings in the California Ford Focus South series, which resumes August 16 at Madera Speedway.
