Rains force North Vernon cancellation
"Special Event" at Hawkeye Downs Thursday night

Indiana Ford Focus Midget Car Series participants are gearing up for a "special event" this Thursday night at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The race kicks off the track's two-night Advance Auto Parts program presented by Papa John's. USAC National Sprint Car and Midget Car racing are featured on the 1/2-mile on Friday night.

Thursday's Cedar Rapids program includes a 20-lap Ford Focus special event on the track's 1/4-mile pavement. Although points will not be awarded for this race, series point leaders are expected to be in action.

Rains forced cancellation of last Saturday night's Indiana Ford Focus Midget Car race at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, Ind. due to wet grounds.

The next point-paying event in the Indiana Ford Focus Midget Car Series is slated May 21 at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, in conjunction with the USAC National Sprint Car Series.
