UNITED FORD SIGNS ON AS TITLE SPONSOR FOR OKLAHOMA FORD FOCUS MIDGET SERIES
United Ford of Tulsa has signed on as title sponsor of the Oklahoma Ford Focus Midget series. Oklahoma Ford Focus Midget series promoter Tom Sewell and United Ford President Bill Knight made the announcement on the Buzz Sports Radio Talk Show last Friday.
United Ford's support of Ford Focus Midget racing dates back to the original Race of Champions at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in 2003. Hosting that race in front of the Tulsa area fans sparked the interest of local promoter Tom Sewell and with cooperation of USAC the Oklahoma Ford Focus Midget Series was formed. The series now known as Oklahoma Ford Focus Midget Series presented by UNITED Ford will race a full schedule in the Oklahoma area for 2005.
The 2005 series, which carries USAC sanction, opens April 9 at the 3/8-mile dirt Tulsa Speedway.
