Chase Scott, Bobby McGowan and Joshua Clemons scored USAC Ford Focus Midget feature victories last week, while rain forced cancellation of Friday night's scheduled Midwest race at Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio. The Midwest series resumes action September 3 at Gas City, Ind. and September 4 at Sumner, Ill.

Brice Kenyon of Lebanon, Ind. emerged as the initial Ford Focus driving champion of 2004, winning the title at the Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome as the Traderindiana.com and Wheels and Deals series at the 1/5-mile paved oval, part of USAC "Open Wheel Wednesday," concluded.

Scott, of Concord, N.C., led the final 21 laps of Friday night's Carolina/Virginia race at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, N.C. in his J & L Industrial Supply/2 Quick Shocks/Beast. Scott, who continues to lead the series standings, was trailed by Aron Oakley, Mike Ward, Michael Sboro and Brit Andersen. Sboro led the first four laps and Oakley led the next five. The Carolina/Virginia series resumes September 4 at South Boston, Va.

McGowan led all 40 laps of Saturday night's California North race at Madera (Calif.) Speedway. He and his Motive Energy/Got Nuts Racing Stealth were trailed at the checkered flag by Bradley Galedrige, Chris Rahe, fast qualifier Nick Morago and Randi Pankratz. Galedrige leads the series standings into a September 18 race at Madera.

Clemons and his Clemons Hauling Kenyon Focus led the final 26 laps of Wednesday night's Speedrome finale after passing Paul Dana on lap 25. Rex Norris III finished second ahead of Dana, Jimmy Light and Travis Young, while Kenyon was sixth.
