Ford Racing's contingency program for USAC teams will continue in 2003 for teams utilizing Ford pushrod engines M6049-SC1 or C3/C3L/C35 "Yates" cylinder heads.

Cash awards have been posted for televised and standard USAC events and a "bonus" is available for any team winning three of five USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown races presented by Valvoline at the following venues: Phoenix, AZ, Nazareth, PA, Fountain, CO, Richmond, VA and on July 31 at Indianapolis (IN) Raceway Park.

USAC National Midget Car Series participants will compete for a similar posting for winning four of the following seven events: Phoenix, AZ, Nazareth, PA, Fountain, CO, Indianapolis (IN) Raceway Park (Night Before the 500 and Twin 25s), Belleville, KS and Irwindale, CA (Turkey Night Grand Prix).

A year-end award is also posted for Ford teams placing first, second or third in the final Weld Racing Silver Crown and National Midget Car Series car entrant standings.

"Ford Racing has been an integral part of our overall program for many years and we are very pleased to have them return in 2003," stated Steve Farmer, USAC Director of Sales/Marketing. "This program, coupled with the new USAC Ford Focus Midget Car Series in Indiana and California, provides our teams and drivers competing with Ford engines the opportunity to be a part of the Ford Racing programs and earn additional prize money for competing in USAC's major racing series."

"We are glad to have Ford Racing Technology returning as a USAC business partner," said USAC President/CEO Rollie Helmling. "Many USAC participants rely on Ford products to get them to victory lane and we appreciate Ford's desire to recognize and reward them."

"Our support of the 2003 USAC National Midget and Silver Crown programs is unchanged from 2002," said Hank Dertian, Supervisor, Performance Equipment, Ford Motor Company. "We feel that the long term relationship between USAC and Ford Racing Technology is a win/win situation. We are also actively involved with Focus Midget again this year with the Southern California Ford Dealers Association. The series will also expand to Northern California and the Indiana area."
