HOFFMAN AUTO RACING RETURNS TO SILVER CROWN DIRT SERIES- RUNS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP
HOFFMAN TEAM RETURNS WITH DON KRUSE AND MATT NEELY
Loveland Ohio( May 2, 2005)- Hoffman Auto Racing, the 8 time USAC National Sprint Car Champions, will return to the Silver Crown dirt series this year. An agreement has been reached with Don Kruse and USAC rising star Matt Neely that will allow the famous #69 to make a run at the Silver Crown owner's championship.
"We last competed in the dirt portion of the Silver Crown Series with Ed Carpenter several years ago. Capacity at the shop has been the primary reason we have not returned , until this year. Hoffman Auto Racing (HAR) has reached an agreement with Don Kruse and Matt Neely to return to the series . Our first race will be the Hoosier Hundred in May. We would love to add a Silver Crown championship ring to our 8 National Sprint Car Championships. Don Kruse and I began discussions last year on filelding a Silver Crown dirt car, I am very pleased to be connected with a professional like Don. It is also exciting to watch the development of a rising USAC star like Matt Neely. We anticipate adding to our 7 Silver Crown Series wins", said Richard Hoffman, President Hoffman Auto Racing.
"It is an honor to be running with the winningest Team in USAC Sprint Car history, we are looking forward to a great year ", said Don Kruse. Matt Neely said "This is an exciting opportunity for myself and Don Kruse, thanks to everyone who made this happen."
The #69 entry will be a new Twister chasis, powered by a FOXCO Chevy. The sponsors will be Maverick Energy, Lytle Energy, and Low Voltage Solutions. The Kroger logo will be displayed at the Hoosier Hundred.
Hoffman Auto Racing(HAR) was founded by August "Gus"(Old Timer) Hoffman when he purchased a Model T Speedster in 1929 and converted it into the Team's first Sprint Car. Little did Gus know that 76 years later his sons Richard and Tom, and his grandson Rob would be carrying on the Family tradition of excellence in Motorsports.
