Coons To Drive For R.E. Technologies Racing at Tony Bettenhausen 100
Memphis, Tenn. -- August 18, 2004 - The R.E Technologies Racing team announced today that Jerry Coons Jr. will drive the No. 191 Hemelgarn 91/Johnson Motorsports/ R.E. Technologies Racing Silver Crown car at the Tony Bettenhausen 100 at Springfield, Ill. Saturday.
"I am excited to team up again with the R.E. Technologies Racing team," said Coons.
Coons and the team have had success at the Tony Bettenhausen 100. The Arizona native has finished second, the last three years. Last season, Coons drove for Jarvis Enterprises at Springfield.
"Unfortunately the wins have eluded us," stated Coons. "I think we are more experienced now. With everyone's experience, we will see if we can finally pull off a win."
Last year the R.E. Technologies Racing team claimed a third place finish at the one-mile dirt oval at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. This year they will have two capable drivers behind the wheel to accomplish the feat in Jerry Coons Jr. and Boston Reid who will pilot the No. 35 Curb Records J&J chassis Silver Crown machine.
