INDIANAPOLIS, IN (September 19) -- Kasey Kahne, one of the country's most versatile race car drivers, has an incredibly busy week ahead of him. The 20-year-old racer from Enumclaw, WA, will compete in four races at three tracks in three states starting Thursday. Kahne will drive his family's #23K sprinter in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series' Circuit City Shootout Thursday and Saturday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE. TNN Sports will televise Saturday's feature program live, starting at 10 p.m. EDT. Kasey will also race at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, SD, Sunday when the World of Outlaws Gumout Series sanctions the annual "Cheaters' Day" event. Sandwiched in the middle of the World of Outlaws sprint car races is Friday's True Value Hullman-Hoosier Hundred USAC Coors Light Silver Bullet event at Indiana State Fairgrounds Speedway. The race was postponed by rain May 26th, making it the series' first September appearance at the one-mile dirt oval since 1995. Kahne ranks 10th in Coors Silver Bullet points with 252, only two behind veteran Russ Gamester. He has recorded three top-five finishes in eight races, including a victory in the last race -- the DuQuoin Century at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds in DuQuoin, IL -- Labor Day. ESPN2 will televise Kasey's fourth-place finish in last Saturday's USAC MCI WorldCom Midget Car Series championship Sunday, starting at 10:30 p.m. EDT. Kahne has raced in six Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series events this season. He put together his best performance at Eldora Speedway April 22nd, racing into ninth place against "greatest show on dirt" veterans Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Mark Kinser, Danny Lasoski and Stevie Smith. Kasey, who leads the USAC MCI WorldCom Midget Car Series point standings, will return to Eldora Speedway for the Four Crown Nationals September 30th.
