JESSE HOCKETT TO DRIVE FOR CARL EDWARDS/ R.E. TECHNOLOGIES RACING AT MANZANITA

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team manager Chris Santucci announced today that Jesse Hockett will drive the No. 199 Roush-Yates Engines, Ford Racing, Red Line Oil Silver Crown at the "Copper on Dirt." February 20-21.

"It is an honor to drive for such an established team with a quality car and crew," said Jesse Hockett. "I will do my best to hopefully bring the No. 199 car to victory lane."

The accomplished winged and non-winged sprint car driver loves the 1/2-mile clay oval at Manzanita. "The Rockett" swept the three-day ASCS Western World Opener at the Phoenix track this past November.

"I like Manzanita Speedway because it is big and fast," smiled Hockett. "I like the speed of it and there are a lot of different lines and ways to run the track."

This weekend's scheduled 50-lap feature is not Jesse Hockett's first excursion into USAC K&N Silver Crown Series. In 2006, Hockett drove for Kasey Kahne Racing finishing a with a top five at Terre Haute.

"I am excited to drive for a strong team like Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing and with Chris Santucci and Robert Hubbard."

HOCKETT ON CARL EDWARDS

"2004 was Carl Edward's first year in the Camping World Truck Series and I met him at an autograph signing. I asked him "how do I get to where you are?" And he said, "Win as many races as you can in as many cars as you can." The photo he signed said never give up. It hangs in my office to remind me."

HOCKETT PULLING THE DOUBLE AT MANZY

In addition to running in USAC's Silver Crown division at Manzanita, Jesse Hocket is slated to run in USAC's Sprint division driving the VKCC/ Tom Buch No. 13. Hockett has two wins in USAC sprints coming into this weekend. Both wins were recorded at Perris Auto Speedway in California.
