Due to the fact that the first six starters are inverted, Michael Lewis and Thomas Messeraul will share the front row starting spots in Sunday's 25-mile feature. Newman's speed of 138.990 mph fell just shy of his all-time USAC Midget Car record of 139.265 set two years ago at Pikes Peak International Raceway.
