Richmond: Edwards/C-A/RET Racing preview

DODSON TEAMS WITH WISE AND CARL EDWARDS/ CURB-AGAJANIAN/ R.E. RACING AT RICHMOND

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Cameron Dodson will return to the Carl Edwards/ Curb-Agajanian/ R.E. Racing team this weekend, pairing with Josh Wise for the "James River Grounds 100" at Richmond International Raceway this Saturday. Dodson is scheduled to pilot the No. 991 Red Line Oil Silver Crown™ car while Wise will drive the No. 199 Roush Yates Ford/ Curb Records car powered by Ford.

"I am excited to have the opportunity to climb back into a Silver Crown car," said Cameron Dodson who is making his first start of the year since an injury sidelined him in 2008. "If it wasn't for team manager Chris Santucci and the guys standing behind me I wouldn't be here right now."

Dodson finished second at Richmond in 2008 after coming from the rear of the field. The team tested a few weeks ago at their home track, Memphis Motorsports Park in preparation for the "James River Grounds 100."

"The test went great," said Dodson. "I couldn't have asked for anything more from the guys. It is great to have Josh Wise as a teammate."

"The car drove really well at the test," added Josh Wise. "The main thing was to make sure everything felt comfortable with it. While setups for Memphis and Richmond are not exactly alike, we achieved the speeds we wanted and everything felt good."

Wise comes into Richmond with experience at the ¾ D shaped oval. He has driven Sprint Car, Silver Crown and NASCAR Nationwide Series cars at Richmond International Raceway before.

"I am pretty stoked about this weekend," said Wise. "If everything goes our way and we get the car right, we'll hopefully have a good weekend. I would like to thank Mike Curb for helping out with this whole deal and making it happen for me. We will hopefully get these guys a win here pretty soon."

RICHMOND SCHEDULE

The SunTrust Indy Challenge weekend gets underway with the first USAC K & N Silver Crown Series practice session scheduled to roll off at 11:45am eastern Friday. Qualifying is slated for 2:40pm. The series is scheduled to have a final practice session Saturday at 3:30pm. The "James River Grounds 100" is scheduled to go green at 6:15pm. In addition to the USAC K & N Silver Crown Series, the USAC National Sprint Car Series is scheduled to run their 60-lap feature under the lights Friday night at 9:45pm.

POINTS UPDATE

The No. 199 Carl Edwards/ Curb-Agajanian/ R.E. Racing entry is seventh in the USAC Silver Crown Series Owners points coming into Richmond this weekend. Josh Wise is fourteenth in driver's points.
