IOWA "TRIPLEHEADER" EXPANDED TO 2 DAYS, MAY 21-22

The "Casey's General Stores USAC Triple Crown Pride of Iowa" event at Iowa Speedway has been extended to encompass two days, May 21 and 22.

The USAC Silver Crown, AMSOIL National Sprint Car and Mopar National Midget series share billing in the only "triple crown" pavement appearance on the 2010 calendar. A 30-lap Midget feature, 50-lap Sprint feature and 100-lap Silver Crown finale are scheduled on the 7/8-mile paved oval on Saturday, May 22.

Defending champions of each Iowa event are Cameron Dodson (Silver Crown), Shane Hmiel (Sprints) and Bobby Santos III (Midgets), while USAC's defending National Champions are Bud Kaeding (Silver Crown), Levi Jones (Sprints) and Brad Kuhn (Midgets).

The weekend schedule, which also includes the NASCAR K & N Pro Series and NKNPS East/West Divisions, includes USAC practice and qualifying on Friday, with practice and feature events on Saturday. The Midget feature gets the green flag at 12:45 pm, followed by the Sprint race at 1:30 and the Silver Crown race at 2:30.

Iowa Speedway has produced the world's fastest Sprint car qualifying lap (Darren Hagen at 146.145 mph in 2006) and USAC's fastest Midget qualifying lap (Santos at 139.553 mph in 2006), while Hmiel set the 1-lap Silver Crown standard of 142.560 mph in 2008.

Friday's practice starts at 3 pm, with qualifying beginning at 6:45 pm. Saturday's practice sessions get under way at 10 am.
