Weld Racing extends, increases Silver Crown involvement
Weld Racing, Inc. of Kansas City, Mo. returns as the series entitlement sponsor of USAC's Weld Racing Silver Crown Series in 2004, as year which will see expansion in terms of Weld's commitment as well as the number of events and venues. Weld's Silver Crown involvement also now extends to include the 2005 season as well.
"We are extremely excited about our continuing involvement with USAC's premier series," said Taylor Weld, Vice President, Research and Development for Weld Racing, Inc., the larghest manufacturer of forged aluminum racing wheels in the United States.
Its founder and President/CEO is USAC's 1967 National Sprint Car Champion, Greg Weld. "We are proud of our association with USAC and look forward to two more years of fantastic racing," Weld continued. "This series has long been the standard-bearer for developing the nation's major racing talent, as evidenced by the success of its champions in other arenas. Just look at the accomplishments of Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Mike Bliss and Jason Leffler and you quickly realize the impact this series has on America's motorsports heritage. We recognized long ago the benefits of USAC sponsorship and are proud to affiliate our product and our company with a sanctioning body which next year will celebrate its golden anniversary."
In addition to the series sponsorship, Weld Racing has significantly increased its support of USAC participants in the Valvoline Sprint Cart Series as a contingency sponsor for 2004 and 2005. Through product service and supply, Weld Racing takes a hands-on approach to all of its motorsports endeavors.
In 2004 the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series, which contains 14 dates at present and opens March 19-21 with the Coppoer World Classic at Phoenix, Ariz., will expand to include races at Memphis, Tenn. and Milwaukee, Wisc.
