DORR Wins Super Stock World Championship - Finishes Third in Season Points Chase
Wins three of four Crandon rounds in 2010

Rockford, IL (September 9, 2010) - The performance by Mitch Dorr at the final weekend of racing in the 2010 Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL in Crandon is definitely making the competition take notice. The son of multi-time off-road champion Geoff Dorr, Mitch's recent accomplishments proves "the apple didn't fall far from the tree." The back-to-back podium finishes gave the Northern Illinois native a third place finish in the 2010 Super Stock Championship.

Saturday - Round 11 - Crandon World Championship

Mitch Dorr lined up for the land rush start knowing he had to win to keep his hopes alive for the Super Stock Championship. The driver of the #817 Fabricated Steel ATD Goodyear Ford F-150 did not disappoint as he grabbed the holeshot and led the entire race flag to flag. It was the team's third win of the year, all of which were at Crandon. Another very cool honor is bestowed on every Saturday race winner during the annual Labor Day weekend event, you become World Champion. This was Mitch's second World Champion, and if is anything like his dad, there surely will be more to come during his racing career.

The win also put the top three drivers in the points chase (S. Beauchamp, Ruppel, & Dorr) in a near deadlock for the top spot. This meant Sunday's final race of the season would determine the Stock Truck Champion.

Sunday - Round 12 - Mole Lake Stock Truck Cup The start of the final race of the season saw a mad scramble for the lead as #893 Brunette and #884 Bowser were at the front of the pack. By the third lap, the top four drivers in the points chase, the Beauchamp cousins, Ruppel, and Dorr, were running at the front of the field. In fact the four racers stayed up front all the way to the finish. In the end it was Scott Beauchamp taking the win, Eric Ruppel finishing second, and Mitch Dorr rounding out the top three.

When the championship points were all added up, and the top finishers went through post-race tech, Scott Beauchamp was named 2010 Super Stock Champion, with Ruppel second, and Mitch Dorr third.

"This class offers incredible racing for the drivers and the fans," exclaimed Mitch Dorr. "The racing is so close and sometimes a little heated, but afterwards we all hang out with each other. The championship basically came down to which driver has the best worst finish. I had a thirteenth, Rupe a twelfth, and Scott a tenth. That was the difference between the three of us. Even though we came up short on the class title, we won the World Championship title on Saturday. Now I've got two to go along with my dads'. That's really cool."

During the twelve rounds of competition Mitch finished in the Top-5 in eleven times, which included three wins, four runner-up finishes, and two third place finishes.
