Chicago's Route 66 Raceway Unpredictable for ROCKSTAR Energy Racing
MacCachren LAUDS BFGoodrich Tires as Best in the Business

Las Vegas, NV --Rob MacCachren's return to Joliet, Illinois Route 66 Raceway was not what the off road racing champion had in mind when he arrived to the great state of Illinois. Since the beginning of the 2010 Traxxas TORC Series Rob MacCachren has earned a podium position in each and every race, but that was not the case on Wednesday night when the 19-time championship season winning racer crossed the finish line.J After leading the race from the first lap, it appeared the Las Vegas off road racing veteran would chalk up another mark in the win column, but as the white flag waved, MacCachren experienced a component failure, which forced him to fall off the lead pace. The 19-time off road racing champion finished the race in 7th position.

Rob explained, "I say it all the time. It's not over until we cross the finish line. We had a bit of bad luck on the track tonight, but on the bright side we've been lucky many times this season. This ROCKSTAR Energy Racing team is resilient and we'll bounce back for tomorrow's race."

The Traxxas TORC Series returned to the famed Route 66 race Raceway for rounds 9 and 10 of the 2010 Traxxas TORC Series. Situated outside turn one of the world-renown Chicagoland Speedway, the TORC Series champions raced in the shadows of one of NASCAR's elite raceways.

Shortcourse racing's return to Joliet, Illinois marks a reunion for many of TORC's racers who last set foot at the Route 66 Raceway eleven years ago in 2000. Back then it was the "EXXON Superflow Championship Off Road Race,"promoted by the then series owner, Championship Off Road Racing, also known as CORR.

ROCKSTAR / BFGoodrich Tires / Mastercraft sponsored Rob MacCachren was there then and his involvement now is bigger than ever.

Rob reflected, "Those were the days," said the grinning racer. "We had some great races back in the old days. Johnny Greaves, Scott Taylor, Scott Douglas and a bunch of other great guys were all there and we battled closely. We are glad to be back and relive some of old days and see the Chicago area fans."

Thursday night racing under the lights in front of fans who came in for the NASCAR event is just what the TORC officials had hoped for and the TORC racers did not disappoint them.

Rob MacCachren started off the race from the inside of the fourth row and as the green flag dropped he bolted towards the first turn fighting with heavy traffic. MacCachren raced delicately avoiding contact from the competition and by the time the mandatory yellow flag waved he was in the middle of the pack with hopes to reel in the leaders.

"We started from the fourth row and I stayed out of the bumping and battling as I ran towards the front. I really thought we had enough to catch Ricky, but it didn't happen. We earned the podium tonight to salvage the race weekend and we're headed to Crandon to race for the season championship," commented Rob.

The ROCKSTAR / BFGoodrich Tires / Mastercraft #21 Ford F150 crossed the finish line capturing the third position on the podium.J Rob later said, "We are disappointed that we gave up the point's lead to Ricky Johnson here at Chicagoland. However, we have always been very fast at Crandon and we've tested there recently with quick times so I feel we have an edge heading into the final race weekend of the 2010 Traxxas TORC Series.'

'One of the best things we have going right now is all the testing that we've done with our marketing partner, BFGoodrich Tires. Their research and development team is second to none and they are always working side by side with us on developing the best tire in the business. This year marks 20 years racing with BFG and I expect that we'll be together for another 20 hoping to win championship after championship."

Rob MacCachren and his ROCKSTAR Energy Racing team finish up the 2010 TRAXXAS TORC Series at Crandon International Raceway on Labor Day Weekend, September 3-5, 2010.
