Oshkosh, Wisconsin --Rob MacCachren and his #21 ROCKSTAR Energy/BFGoodrich/Mastercraft race team fought off the inclement weather for three days and nights before the #21 Ford F-150 entered the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway off road track for the first time all week.
A packed house of nearly 7,000 fans filled the grandstands each night, despite the threat of continuing wet weather and what they saw was an incredible battle of the nation's top short course racers.JROCKSTAR/BFGoodrich/Mastercraft backed racer, Rob MacCachren dueled with motocross legends, Ricky Johnson and Jeremy McGrath both nights and earned valuable championship season points in his quest to repeat as the TORC Pro 2 Champion.
In addition to his second and third place podium finishes, Rob MacCachren was awardedthe Oakley Bomb Award in PRO 2, setting the fastest lap of Round 6 with a lap time of 40.295 seconds.
MacCachren said, "Oshkosh Raceway put on a great race weekend and the track was challenging. It was close racing all weekend long, but unfortunately we got a flat left rear tire after racing wheel to wheel with another competitor. That was no fault of BFGoodrich Tires, we took a huge puncture to the sidewall from the other race truck. The Oshkosh fans this weekend were incredible and I can't thank them enough for coming out to support off road racing."
Charging his familiar glossy black #21 Ford F-150 race truck under the lights of the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway, the Las Vegas racing native earned third and second place finishes, respectively, and added valuable points to his championship season points total that has reached 138 points.
"The season is long, but we have a very fast and strong reliable race truck as well as the best sponsors in the industry supporting our race efforts. We've made the podium in each of the TORC Series races and if we continue to reach the podium each and every race, we'll have a great opportunity at repeating as the series champion," explained Rob.
The #21 ROCKSTAR Energy Racing team races in both of the premier national short course race series, TORC and LUCAS Oil Off Road Series. Thus far in 2010, Rob MacCachren has raced a combined 14 races, which he's finished on the podium in 13 of the 14 races.
Rob commented, "Jim Blackmore and the crew are the most hardworking crew I've ever had in preparing the race truck for each and every race. Whether changing the setup because of track conditions or meticulously prepping every aspect of our ROCKSTAR Ford F-150, the crew deserves a big thanks for their outstanding work."
