Valvoline-USAC partnership extended through 2005.
The Valvoline Oil Company of Lexington, Kentucky, a division of Ashland Oil Company, continues its affiliation with USAC for the next three years as the Official Oil of USAC, the "Presenting sponsor of the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series" and as the continuing sponsor of the USAC Valvoline "Indiana Sprint Weeks."
All USAC Silver Crown teams will receive Valvoline products during this term, while year-end cash awards are also posted for championship drivers and car entrants in this series. An added point fund is also established for the extremely-popular Valvoline "Indiana Sprint Weeks" series in July.
"Our relationship with Valvoline has continued to grow during the past year and the assistance of Mikel Hartman, Valvoline Motorsports Marketing Manager, has provided a great experience. An Indiana native, Mikel has worked with USAC to develop an overall marketing strategy and theme for the next three years which will bring many of the USAC marketing objectives to fruition."
USAC will work closely with the Valvoline Cup Program managed by RaceFan.com to enhance that program within the ranks of USAC and other short track series drivers. The Valvoline Cup offers additional cash incentives for drivers competing in racing series nationwide.
These programs enhance Valvoline's motorsports operations, which also include their program with MB2 Motorsports and its driver Johnny Benson and Jerry Nadeau in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series.
"Valvoline's highest quality products have been involved with the success of USAC racing teams since USAC began in 1956," said USAC President/CEO Rollie Helmling. "They recognize the value of illustrating the exceptional dependability of the products by their being subjected to the severe stresses of USAC racing. There is no better proving ground to Valvoline than USAC racing. It is with great pleasure that we not only welcome Valvoline back to join us for another racing season but we appreciate that they value USAC racing to an even greater extent.
"We look forward to their additional participation in two of our flagship events, as the presenting sponsor of the Weld Racing Silver Crown Series and their ongoing support of "Indiana Sprint Weeks." Valvoline has long recognized the value of motorsports and we proudly recognize them as one of our most valued business partners."
"Having USAC racers continue to participate in the Valvoline Cup is another boost for this grassroots championship," said Mikel Hartman, motorsports marketing manager for Valvoline. "It's also an opportunity for USAC's committed racers to earn more money and merchandise."
