WM: Ventura wrapup, Hanford preview

KRUSEMAN WINS VENTURA 30-LAPPER

Robby Flock of Murrieta, Calif. leads the USAC Western Midget Series standings after finishing 10th in Saturday night's 30-lap race at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. He posted the fastest qualifying time at Ventura and leads former series champ Steve Paden by 16 points going into a May 7 race at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif.

Cory Kruseman of Ventura, Calif. out dueled Brad Kuhn to win the Ventura 30-lapper, piloting the Agromin/Barnes Oil Pumps Bondio/Barnes entry. He passed Kuhn on lap three but relinquished the lead back to Kuhn on lap 14. Four laps later, Kruseman regained the lead for good and led to the checkered flag to beat Kuhn, Garrett Hansen, defending series champ Johnny Rodriguez and CRA Sprint regular Damion Gardner.

Gardner, making a rare Midget appearance, won a heat, as did Chris Rahe, Kruseman and Eric Wilkins. Shannon McQueen won the semi.
