WYSONG RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE; WESTERN SPRINTS HEAD TO TRACY SATURDAY
INDIANAPOLIS -- USAC's Western Sprint Car Series bunch heads back to California this Saturday for a double-dip with the California Ford Focus Pavement Midget Car Series at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, Calif.
The series completed one co-sanctioned race Saturday with the SLVRA/Young Automotive Group Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah, one that saw Jimmy Wysong continue his assault on the Rocky Mountain circuit.
Wysong led all 50 laps of the race in the No. 1 self-owned machine for his fifth victory of the season, leading Ryan Burdett, Brian McClish, Mike Murgoitio and Dave Fitzgerald.
Murgoitio closed to within 33 points of Tony Hunt -- who finished 14th at RMR -- heading to Altamont, a race co-sanctioned with CASA. The next Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series race is scheduled for Aug. 13 at RMR.
