(Raleigh, NC - January 29, 1999) CARQUEST Auto Parts is pleased to announce sponsorship of the Zarounian-Helmling Motorsports team for all fifteen of the United States Auto Club - Coors Light Silver Bullet Series races to be held during the 1999 season.

J.J. Yeley has been named as driver for the team. A Phoenix, Arizona native, Yeley is one of the brightest stars of open wheel racing today. At age 21, he was the youngest driver in the 1998 Indianapolis 500 and finished 9th. After winning many Sprint Car races in Arizona and California, J.J. came to the Mid-West in 1997 to tackle the USAC Sprint Car Series and won 5 races during his first season.

The Zarounian-Helmling Motorsports team is owned by Rollie Helmling, a Vincennes, Indiana businessman who is owner and president of Harold's Supermarkets and a business partner with NASCAR Winston Cup and seven-time Indy 500 driver John Andretti in Andretti-Helmling Automotive Corporation, which owns CARQUEST auto parts stores. Team co-owner Gary Zarounian is a central California businessman with interests in automobile dealerships and real estate.

Rollie Helmling said, "We are very pleased to be a part of the CARQUEST Motorsports effort. With over 3800 locations across North America, CARQUEST is the premier group in the auto parts business. We plan on showing our commitment to this great company with a championship season."

CARQUEST Director of Advertising, Scott Ginsburg stated, "We have long had a interest in expanding our motorsports sponsorships to include this important USAC series. We feel that we have found the right combination of skilled driver and well run team to reach our goals."

CARQUEST is a Gold Sponsor of the Special Olympics World Games to be held in North Carolina June 26 through July 4, 1999.
