Ming returns to Pabst for USF2000 season
Calvin Ming will join fellow returnee Lucas Kohl and rookie Rasmus Lindh at Pabst Racing for the 2018 USF2000 season.
The 22-year-old driver from Guyana will pilot the #21 Pabst Racing MPS and APAN-sponsored entry during the 14-round season, as he attempts to improve on the fifth place in the championship he scored in his rookie season last year. He scored second places at Indy road course and Road America, and thirds at Iowa and Watkins Glen.
Ming said: “I feel confident going into the 2018 series after having a successful 2017 season with the team. I have learned quite a lot from working with them last year, and I am confident that they can provide me with a very competitive car throughout the season this year.
"My goal for this year is simply to take everything I have learned from working with the team last season and apply those same techniques to the best of my ability in order to win the championship.”
Team owner Augie Pabst responded: "We are thrilled to have Calvin returning for 2018. It confirms to me that we did our job as a team correctly in 2017, which is why he chose to return with our team. Calvin is another stellar addition to the finest driver lineup we ever could have hoped for."
The Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda will begin with a test on the Homestead road course tomorrow and Thursday.
