Elsegood delivers a Coopers Clear message in Townsville V8 Ute Practice

Coopers Clear Racing's Jack "The Hustler" Elsegood proved he is one to watch this weekend after posting the fastest times in both practice sessions for Round 4 of the 2010 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All at Townsville, Friday, 9 July.

The 2009 champion is only 4/100ths of a second off his current lap record of 1:28.55 and is keen to make his mark this weekend.

"I won the Armor All Pole Award here last year and it would be nice to do it again tomorrow. The car is quick so if we just keep doing what we're doing at the moment we should have a good result this weekend," said Elsegood.

Second fastest in combined practice order is Nulon Oil driver David Sieders, who has a good track record at street races. The Rookie took out the first round at Clipsal 500 earlier in the year.

Jesus Racings, Andrew Fisher was third fastest and will be looking to put some good points on the board this weekend. He is currently in 3rd position in the Series and looking to catch current series leader Grant Johnson who came in fourth position.

Queenslander Brad Patton had a good result posting fifth position in front of Rookie, Jeremy Gray and Storage King's Ben Dunn.

A new engine is exactly what the doctor ordered for Queenslander Ryal Harris who came in just ahead Ice Break Racing's Chris Pither who maintained his usual top ten position.

Robert Jarvis is back from the grave posting one of his best practice results this year rounding out the top ten.

Bob Jane T-Marts driver Kim Jane fell short of a few practice laps after he made contact with the wall on the out lap in the second practise session, which resulted in damage to the front suspension and caused his front left wheel to fall off.

"It was a bad mistake, which pushed me into the wall," said Jane.

Wake Up Holden driver Warren Millet faces an engine change overnight after a failure in practice today, while Ice Break driver Gary MacDonald had a drive shaft break in practise one.

Drivers battle it out tomorrow (Saturday, 10th July) for the Armor All Pole Award and $1,000 cash in Qualifying at 9am followed by Race 1, which will be televised, live on Network Seven at 1:30pm.
