Naming Rights partner of the 2010 V8 Ute Racing Series, Yokohama, celebrated a milestone over the Supercheap Auto Bathurst weekend clocking up 150 races as the control tyre in the Series.

After a six year involvement, Yokohama Tyres Australia celebrated their 150th milestone in Race 3 which was televised nationally throughout Australia on Network Seven and also globally to 39 different countries through Motors TV Europe and TV3 New Zealand.

Yokohama has been involved in the Series since 2005 providing all Ford and Holden V8 Utes with A048 R-Spec tyres.

Yokohama Tyres Australia Marketing Manager Christian Hansen is happy with the relationship over the years and is pleased to be celebrating such a big milestone.

"The Yokohama A048 R-spec tyre has proven to be a fantastic product and very durable for the rough and tumble of V8 Ute Racing. It is an all weather tyre and over 5,000 have been used in the series over the past 6 years. The V8 Ute series has given the Yokohama brand a great motorsport platform and the chance to raise the profile of our high performance ADVAN brand. Our Company is proud to have been a part of the sensational growth of V8 Utes and to have delivered a tyre that has helped produce so many great races."

Yokohama have been involved in eight rounds every year in the Series and were also involved in six races at the Australian Grand Prix, three races at the Bathurst Legend event in 2002, four races at Manfeild in New Zealand in 2006 and three races at the Hamilton Street race, New Zealand in 2010.

Drivers who have driven on the Yokohama A048 R-Spec tyres include the likes of country singer, Adam Brand, TV Host Grant Denyer, V8 Supercar drivers Cameron McConville, Luke Youlden and Steve Owen, Gold Medallist Steve Bradbury Stunt driving legend, Robbie Maddison, plus series winners Damien White, Marcus Zukanovic, Grant Johnson, Layton Crambrook and Jack Elsegood.

Nulon Oil driver, David Sieders was the lucky driver to claim victory in Yokohama's 150th Race and he's excited to be a part of such a milestone.

"I was so excited that I won and to do it for Yokohama's 150th race was a bonus. The tyres we use are fantastic and suit the V8 Utes series perfectly. I'd like to congratulate Yokohama on clocking up 150 V8 Ute race wins," said Sieders.

To re-cap on Yokohama Tyres Australia's 150th race with the V8 Utes tune in to Network Seven this Saturday, 16th October at 12:30pm.

The V8 Utes will move to Gold Coast for Round 7 of the 2010 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series - protected by Armor All 22 - 24 October.

Make-A-Wish Australia is the official charity of Australian V8 Ute Racing who will endeavour to assist the foundation with their mission, which is to "To grant the Wishes of Children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope strength and joy."
