Tasman round out Grand Prix weekend with solo car effort
Andrew Jones has finished with a straight Sleepyhead Commodore from this weekend's Panasonic V8 Supercars event at the Foster's Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.
The Melbourne-based racer finished 18th in today's final 10-lapper from 21st on the grid.
He was Tasman Motorsport's only representative after team-mate Jason Richards' Commodore was too badly damaged yesterday to take the start line.
Jones, whose Tasman team elected not to protest the 30-second penalty he was handed yesterday that dropped him from 13th to 21st, will now head along with the Kiwi to the next V8 round at Pukekohe in New Zealand in three weeks' time.

"It was a race with no drama for me. I spent a lot of time running on my
own, with Steven Johnson and Jason Bright further up the road. I wasn't as
happy with the balance of the car in today's race. But we've got a straight
car and learnt more, so let's go to Pukekohe now and put it into place
where there are points up for grabs."
