Boost extends Percat Supercar backing
Boost Mobile will back Nick Percat’s Brad Jones Racing Commodore for a second event running, with an extension of the Bathurst deal to include this weekend’s Gold Coast 600.

Boost was the latest company to back Percat’s Commodore as part of its rolling sponsorship programme, taking over the primary backing of the car in the lead-up to the Bathurst 1000.
That deal has now been extended for this weekend’s Gold Coast round, Percat and co-driver Macauley Jones set to run the Boost colours for a second consecutive race meeting.
It will be the first time all season that Percat’s car has carried the same livery at two consecutive rounds.
It also means that for the second round in a row, Percat’s car will look almost identical to James Courtney’s Boost-backed #22 entry, running out of HSV Racing.
“It’s great to have Boost Mobile back on board for the Gold Coast 600 event,” said Percat.
“It was a clever idea to have the two similar liveries at Bathurst, as it kept the Supercars fans on their toes as they’d do a double take to see if it was #8 or #22. Luckily that didn’t happen with our pit stop crews!
“The Boost Mobile team spent a lot of the weekend with us at Bathurst, and it was great that they enjoyed their time with us so much that they wanted to join us for another round.”
The extension of the BJR deal comes during a period of expanded backing in the category from Boost. Along with the ongoing deal with Courtney’s HSV Commodore, there has also been Boost signage running on the Prodrive Racing Falcons.
In the BJR extension announcement, General Manager of Boost Australia Jason Haynes hinted that the company is evaluating a “permanent team” for the 2018 season.
"Boost Mobile is proud to be supporting Nick, Macauley and BJR at the GC600,” said Haynes.
“Coming off the back of Bathurst 1000 which like every year saw amazing racing, incredible content and stories emerge throughout the day, seeing the effort from the team and the coverage we received was very positive.
“We are looking to continue our support within Supercars next season and have been working on which will be our permanent team longer term. Until then it was nice to be able to continue to support Brad and the team at BJR.”
