Pioneer Aussie ISP Ozemail is expected to be the main sponsor of Brad Jones return to V8 supercars for this season's Shell Championship series. Speaking on Melbourne's Channel 31 weekly motorsport show In Pit Lane, Motorsport News reporter Aaron Noonan said that Jones sponsorship was just the latest in the world wide trend for IT and Internet related companies to get involved in Motorsport.

"Williams has signed CompaqŠ Prost has announced sponsorship from Yahoo and of course in the States the IRL has signed Northern Lights as their major sponsor."

Noonan also told viewers of In Pit Lane of the new looks for several teams including Ford Tickford racing, Castrol and Gibson motorsport.

Also on the show Toll Racing's Anthony Tratt said that Level 2 teams like Toll required a budget of over one million dollars a year to go racing. Tratt also said that he and team owner Paul Little planned to move up to full Level One status in the long term.

Full level one teams had to enter two cars at all rounds of the series, provide a show car and maintain a full time PR rep. "We're in a business" he said and AVESCO were "very serious about the growth of the category in Australia."

Tratt said he could see no reason why the class could not continue to grow over the next few years.

Tratt said he was looking forward to the opening round of the season at Melbourne's Phillip Island on February 11-13 and was looking for a top ten finish in this years championships.
