July 9, 2001 - Calder Park will be celebrating the venue's 25th hosting of an Australian Touring Car Championship / Shell Championship Series (ATCC /SCS) round this Sunday (July 15) when Round 7 of the Shell Championship Series for V8 Supercars fires into high octane action at the Melbourne motor racing circuit.

The first ever ATCC winner at Calder Park, Bob Jane, will mark this special Australian motor racing anniversary with a return to the marque he dominantly won with back in 1969, courtesy of the Ford Tickford Racing V8 Supercar team.

(Bob Jane won the opening round of the 1969 ATCC at Calder Park driving a Ford Mustang, six seconds ahead of pole setter Pete Geoghegan who was also driving a Mustang with Porsche driver Alan Hamilton third).

In what will be a major change to anything the four time Australian Touring Car Champion (1962, 1963,1971,1972) has driven during his illustrious career, Jane will be harnessed into one of Ford Tickford Racing's AU Falcon V8 Supercars for a number of laps to mark the 25th anniversary of ATCC /SCS racing at Melbourne's home of motorsport.

Bob Jane's V8 Supercar drive will take place at Calder Park this Thursday, July 12 at 4:00pm, marking the start of an action packed Shell Championship Series weekend at Calder Park.

This Shell Championship Series event will feature all the nation's V8 Supercar stars along with a packed support racing schedule that includes Formula Ford, Formula Holden, Saloon Cars and HQ sedans.
