NEW LEXMARK INDY 300 CHIEF APPOINTED

Queensland's premier event, the Lexmark Indy 300, has appointed Mr Greg Hooton as its new General Manager.

Mr Hooton is currently Vice President Events for IMG and has vast experience in development and delivery of major events throughout Australia and Asia Pacific.

IMG Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Mr Martin Jolly said Mr Hooton would take immediate management responsibility for the Lexmark Indy 300 held on the Gold Coast next week and the IMG Motorsport business in Asia Pacific.

"We are delighted Greg has agreed to take on this new role," said Jolly. "He brings exceptional event management skills to our motorsport portfolio having been a key architect in developing best practice policies and procedures within IMG events in the region."

Mr Hooton's recent projects include:

Direct management responsibility for the presentation, marketing and implementation of a major international event for the Singapore Government.

Director of Operations for the Australian Pavilion at the 2005 World Expo, Aichi, Japan. This event attracted 18 million visitors with over 3 million attending the Australian pavilion over 6 months.

In Australia Greg has been involved with a broad range of IMG activities including:

Director Operations Sandown 500 V8 Supercar event in Melbourne.

Event Director for International Soccer Series in Australia.

Sponsorship relationship manager for the 2003 World Rugby Cup in Australia.

Event Director for the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.

Business Manager for IMG Australia's Rosemount Fashion Week.

National business management of corporate hospitality sales division for all IMG Australia's major events.

"Greg will provide strong leadership to a very experienced and committed team and will help take the Event and the IMG Motorsport division to a new level in future years."

Lexmark Indy 300 Chairman, Mr Terry Mackenroth, welcomed the appointment and said he and all members of the Partnership Management Committee, which oversees the event, look forward to working with Greg to ensure the event continues to grow.

"Greg joins us at an important time as we work to take the Lexmark Indy 300 forward after 16 successful years."

Mr Hooton said he was delighted to be joining the Lexmark Indy 300 team and was very excited to be involved with such an iconic Queensland event.

"The Lexmark Indy 300 is a world class event and I'm looking forward to joining the team and again delivering a great experience for all involved."

Mr Jolly also announced Mr David Bennett, current Operations Manager for Lexmark Indy 300, had also been appointed General Manager, IMG Motorsport, Australia.
