David Reynolds became the fastest ever man around the Darwin circuit yesterday with a 1m06.730s, but that practice record was decimated today by Coulthard, the Brad Jones Racing topping the third session with a stunning 1m06.431s.

“Not a bad way to start the day at all,” he said.

“The car is awesome, the changes we made overnight have made it better again. I’d like to think there’s a little bit more in it. How much, I’m not sure.”

Will Davison was a late improver, jumping from one end of the time sheet to the other with a 1m06.576s as the flag fell, his and Coulthard’s times knocking Mark Winterbottom from first to third.

Prodrive Racing Australia had another solid session, with Mostert fourth behind team-mate Winterbottom, Reynolds sixth behind Tekno’s Shane van Gisbergen, and Andre Heimgartner seventh in the Prodrive-run Super Black Racing entry.

Jason Bright, Scott Pye, and James Courtney rounded out the Top 10, while David Wall was the best-placed Volvo in 11th.

Nissan had a tough outing, James Moffat leading the way in 12th while Michael Caruso was 16th, Rick Kelly 17th, and Todd Kelly 22nd.

As was in the case in yesterday’s first session, Garth Tander was 25th and last after spending most of the session in the pits making front-end changes to his Holden Racing Team Commodore.
