Douglas was initially drafted in as a last-minute replacement for Matt Chahda – whose step up to the main series was blocked by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport – right before the season-opening Clipsal 500.

He was then retained for the non-championship support races during the Australian Grand Prix, and will now make his second championship round start of the season with an outing at Symmons Plains in Tasmania this weekend – part of an informal round-by-round agreement with the team.

It will be a late arrival down to Launceston, through; Douglas, who runs his own demolition business, is working in Melbourne today before flying to Tasmania this evening.

“I love going racing, so it’s great that I can have another crack down in Tasmania this weekend,” Douglas told Motorsport.com.

“I’m used to the late call-ups now. It’s a pretty busy time for me with working on the business and then combining it with a full-blown Supercars drive. I’ll go from a digger today to the Commodore tomorrow.”

After one-off backing from soft drink brand Lift at Albert Park, the #3 Commodore will run in Repair Management colours at Symmons Plains.
