Steve Ellery says he has to find a new plan to pull speed out of the Super Cheap Auto Ford, after being bumped from the top 10 at Oran Park, near Sydney, today.

Ellery was 2nd fastest in both qualifying sessions this morning and was pleased to notch one of the fastest qualifying splits early in the session. But Ellery's luck didn't last, after coming into the pits in 5th he was bumped down the order to 10th position.

After the second qualifying session, Steve and Paul Radisich were both pushed out of the top ten. Ellery was obviously disappointed to miss the shootout and has set his focus on tomorrow's racing.

"It's a tough call to chase a win from 12th but it is possible to expect a top spot. Jason Bright finished 2nd at Hidden Valley after starting in 12th so if you get it right in the pits anything is possible."

"We had a plan and that plan didn't quite come together and we missed the cut in qualifying. We obviously still have a few things we need to look at, because we know we're quick but we haven't been able to convert that to qualifying points here" Ellery said.

"Tomorrow, you can guarantee we'll be one of the fastest cars on track but sitting amongst half a dozen guys who're all chasing front row can be a scary spot to be in. I reckon piling into turn one mid-field will be like rush hour in Sydney, pretty damn diabolical." <pre>
