May 19, 2003 - While Ford Performance Racing (FPR) is expecting some very competitive V8 Supercar racing at Victoria's Winton Raceway this weekend, the Ford team has been competing in another gruelling race of their own - the race to complete the team's second BA Falcon V8 Supercar for double Champion driver Glenn Seton.

The FPR crew is working relentlessly to complete the build of Seton's Ford Credit FPR BA Falcon in the days leading to Winton, all the while ensuring that Phillip Island winner and Eastern Creek runner-up Craig Lowndes has the equipment that he needs to continue his stellar start to the 2003 Australian V8 Supercar Championship.

Adding to the FPR team jobsheet is the preparation of Seton's former AU Falcon for driver David Besnard to compete with until the third and final FPV BA Falcon completes the Ford team's formidable V8 Supercar line up.

FPR is planning to continue the team's strong form at Winton Raceway, a twisting three kilometre circuit that will provide a number of technical challenges for the drivers and engineers to deal with.

Ford Credit FPR Falcon driver Glenn Seton has been the most successful of the three FPR drivers at this circuit with two pole positions and two round wins. Armed with a brand new FPR BA Falcon at Winton, Seton is a major contender.

Lowndes is enjoying his strongest start to a V8 Supercar season in three years with his CAT FPR BA Falcon. Gaining one victory and a second place out of three rounds contested so far has made the triple Champion eager to get back on the track with a further improved BA Falcon V8 Supercar.

FPV FPR Falcon driver David Besnard will once again be in the hunt for valuable Championship points at Winton, the last FPR driver to continue competing in an AU Falcon. As the fastest AU driver in the field at Eastern Creek, Besnard plans a repeat performance in the former Seton car.

#5 Glenn Seton - "I'm excited about getting into a BA Falcon as the car has displayed brilliant potential so far and I want to be in a car that can take me to the front of the action. Winton was my test track over the last two years, I have had some great races, pole positions and wins there so I know my way around it pretty well. It will be tough racing over 300 kilometres on a twisting circuit like this, but I am relishing the challenge - particularly armed with a new Ford Credit BA Falcon."

#6 Craig Lowndes - "I am feeling confident about our chances leading into the Winton round. The plan is to continue the strong form we have displayed at Phillip Island and at Eastern Creek. Glenn stepping up to a BA Falcon is going to help a great deal as we will be able to fast track the set up of our cars by cross referencing information for the first time."

#19 David Besnard - "This is a very important time for FPR as the team will have two BA Falcons on the track and this is sure to make a major impact on the race, while making our testing more efficient. I'm moving into the AU Falcon I shared with Glenn at Bathurst last year, which is a newer car, and this should help in gaining a stronger result at Winton."

FPR Chief Engineer John Russell - "FPR looks forward to the challenge of another new circuit at Winton, this time armed with two BA Falcons which should consolidate our position in the top ten. The 300 kilometre race will be demanding on equipment, drivers and pit work - so we look forward to another exciting Sunday."
