GMC and Tasman - Two power houses combine

Monday, February 19, 2007 - Holden's rising V8 Supercar star, Tasman Motorsport has teamed with Australia's fastest growing power tool company, the Global Machinery Company (GMC).

GMC will feature as the major sponsor on the two new VE Commodores which the team will field for drivers Jason Richards and new team-mate Greg Murphy at the opening two rounds of the 2007 V8 Supercar Series, while its branding will also feature heavily on the team cars throughout the remainder of the season.

Established in 1997, GMC has experienced phenomenal growth over the past six years and is now at the forefront of the Australian power tool market. It has also expanded internationally and markets its products in many overseas markets including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.

GMC prides itself with being a leader in product innovation, ongoing investment in research and design will see GMC continue to provide innovative products that meet customer's demands.

Since emerging from the single-car Lansvale outfit in 2004, Tasman Motorsport has also experienced similar growth success, expanding to a two-car team the following year, moving its base from Sydney to its impressive new facility in Melbourne-suburb Preston, and scoring podium finishes at Sandown and Bathurst.

In 2007, the team has built two new VE Commodores, expanded its engine and technical capabilities by signing a number of the sport's leading personnel to its staff, while four-time Bathurst champion Murphy joins Richards to form one of the most formidable driver line-ups in the championship.

GMC joins The Firepower Group as an official partner of Tasman Motorsport for 2007 via its unique and successful segmented sponsorship program - a program in which partners alternate their major branding on team cars during the season. Further partners finalising the program will be announced shortly.

The association between GMC and Tasman Motorsport will be extended via a number of exciting cross-promotional opp ortunities via GMC's major sponsorships of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and its sponsorship of the Team GMC 125cc Motorcycle team.
