Lansvale Racing Team in top 20 after Qld 500 practice day.

September 13, 2002 - LRT V8 Supercar endurance racing team drivers Cameron McConville and Warren Luff have completed a progressive day's practice at Queensland Raceway in warm and cloudy conditions.

This is the first time that McConville and Luff have shared driving duties for the V8 Supercar endurance races. Judging by their consistent performance today, the Sydney based team's Holden VX Commodore V8 Supercar will be highly competitive this weekend.

McConville set the 19th fastest lap time in both 45 minute practice sessions, with his 1:12.5835s and 1:12.1560s laps in each. Luff lapped within a few tenths of his team mate as he became accustomed to the LRT car in full race trim at Queensland Raceway.

Cameron McConville- "I'm happy with our speed today, considering we still have a few handling issues to sort out for tomorrow. To be honest, I didn't expect to be inside the top 20, because our car has considerable room for improvement."

Warren Luff - "The car felt quite good from the start of practice, the team made considerable changes throughout the day that have improved the overall balance of the car. With more time in the car I think we can develop a very strong race package.

The Lansvale Racing Team will be back on the track tomorrow (Saturday) for a final practice session at 9:55am, followed by the all important qualifying sessions and the top fifteen shootout, determining the grid positions for Sunday's 500 kilometre battle.
