GLENN SETON TEAMS WITH JASON BARGWANNA TO FORM EXPERIENCED BATHURST COMBINATION

Glenn Seton will team up with Jason Bargwanna to form an experienced driver combination in the #11 Rock Holden Commodore at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 this October.

Seton and Bargwanna have a combined total of 39 Bathurst 1000 starts, equal with the Car #888 pairing of Craig Lowndes and Mark Skaife as the most experienced pairing in the 2010 edition of 'The Great Race'.

Seton will join Bargwanna in the #11 Rock Holden Commodore entry for the L&H 500 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on September 10-12 and the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on October 7-10.

Seton was announced as a part of Kelly Racing's endurance driver line-up in May as the two-time Australian Touring Car Champion chases an elusive first Bathurst 1000 victory.

Bargwanna and Seton both raced as part of the Pro-Duct operation at the Bathurst 12 Hour production car race in February, where Seton finished in second place.

Seton was on the podium at the Bathurst 1000 as recently as 2006 when partnered with James Courtney at Stone Brothers Racing, finishing in third place, one position behind Kelly Racing drivers Todd and Rick Kelly.

Bargwanna took victory in the 2000 edition of The Great Race partnered with Garth Tander in a Garry Rogers Motorsport Holden Commodore.

Bargwanna showed last season that he still has what it takes to contend for Bathurst glory, fighting for a podium position in the latter stages of the race when partnered with co-driver Mark Noske, eventually finishing in sixth place.

KELLY RACING QUOTEBOARD:

GLENN SETON - #11 Rock Holden Commodore

"Jason (Bargwanna) spoke to me about what I was going to do this year because we were teamed up in the same team at the (Bathurst) 12 Hour earlier this year," said Glenn Seton.

"So it's great to get the opportunity to go there again for the 26th time at Bathurst and get to be a part of Jason's show and go up there together.

"Jason drives like a little terrier dog and if he gets the chance he will be digging at their heels.

"I'm really looking forward to being a part of that and to get up on that podium is our aim.

"Having all those Bathurst starts makes both of us feel old -- we'll have to talk that down I think!

"Last year was the first year that I've sat at home and watched it on TV for a lot of years, probably 30 or 40 years, because I used to go there every year, even with my dad when he was racing back in the 60s and 70s.

"So it was my first opportunity to watch it on TV and I didn't like where I was watching it from!

"I haven't really finished my goals at Bathurst. I've got close to winning it but I've never won it and this year I'd like to have the opportunity to hopefully finish on the podium and win it with Jason in the Rock Commodore.

"Now that the full-time drivers are split it probably gives 12 cars the opportunity to win that event and I think that we are a part of those 12 cars. There is no doubt about that.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge and I know Jason is looking forward to the challenge. We are going there to win."

JASON BARGWANNA - #11 Rock Holden Commodore

"Obviously this year, with not being able to pair up your number one drivers, it's going to make the race very interesting," said Jason Bargwanna.

"Last year I had Mark Noske in my car and we were fighting for a podium position.

"I think this year with Glenn with me in the Rock car, there is no doubt that with the experience we have between us, we are in with a good shot.

"When you look at the amount of podiums that Glenn has had at Bathurst it shows what he is capable of there.

"We teamed up together at the (Bathurst) 12 Hour in separate cars but in the same team earlier this year.

"I chased him around the Mountain and I can tell you that he knows the place better than most and that's the bloke you need in your car.

"I'd be honoured to be able to share his first win at Bathurst. Fortunately for me I've got one but it would be nice to have a second and to make sure that Glenn gets his first in the Rock Commodore."
