As revealed by Motorsport.com earlier this afternoon, Douglas emerged as a late contender for the seat alongside teenage rookie Alex Rullo.

The team has now confirmed that Douglas will in fact race the #3 Commodore on the streets of Adelaide this weekend, the announcement only including the Clipsal round and no details on whether it could extend to other events.

“I’m really happy to have Taz back on board for the first race of the season,” said team owner Lucas Dumbrell.

“Obviously it’s been a bit of a waiting game as to who we had in the second seat, but I’m glad that this is out in the open and we can just focus on going racing.”

It was a late call-up for Douglas, who is flying to Adelaide this evening to begin preparations for his surprise return to Supercars.

“When Lucas gave me the call up, there was no other option than to say yes,” he said.

“Now I’m just going to make sure that I go out there and give it my all and bring the car home in one piece.”
