Mostert tops first V8 practice in Malaysia
Chaz Mostert will go down in the record books as the first driver to top a V8 Supercars practice session in Malaysia.
The Prodrive Racing Australia driver was the man to beat in a 20-minute, rain-affected session at the KL City Grand Prix in Kuala Lumpur, his 1m36.102s best more than a second clear of the next best, Triple Eight’s Craig Lowndes.
Scott McLaughlin was third fastest for Volvo, Will Davison fourth for Erebus, while Todd Kelly’s Nissan was fifth and last.
Practice was cut short in KL, with construction of the circuit running late, meaning no on-track action until this evening.
The action continues tomorrow with a qualifying session and a non-championship race.
