Orrcon drivers to open Steel Foundation plant

Orrcon Racing's Jason Bargwanna and Mark Winterbottom will join in on the festivities at the official opening of the Steel Foundations head office and manufacturing facility at Ormeau, Queensland tomorrow morning.

The new factory, recently completed at Motorway Business Park south Yatala, will be home to Steel Foundations Limited (SFL), a company that has been a major loyal customer of Orrcon for many years.

SFL develops, manufactures, supplies and installs screw piling technology for the residential, commercial & civil construction industries with Orrcon pipe, which meets all of SFL's technical and performance standards.

The appearance at the opening of the SFL plant begins the busy week ahead for Bargwanna and Winterbottom as they prepare for this weekend's seventh round of the V8 Supercar Championship, the Queensland 300 at Ipswich's Queensland Raceway.

On Wednesday afternoon the pair will meet at the Larkham Motor Sport workshop on the Gold Coast with team engineers to finalise preparations for the weekend ahead which begins on Friday.

The Ford Superbreakfast that will be attended by all V8 Supercar drivers, several Ford drivers in the V8 ute Championship and members of the Queensland cricket team kicks off the driver appearances on Thursday morning.

In the afternoon both drivers will head out to Queensland Raceway to complete a handful of media commitments before the action heats up on Friday with a two-hour practice session in the afternoon.

Team owner Mark Larkham is confident that the team can continue to build on the speed shown by the Orrcon Racing Falcon's over the past couple of rounds where highlights have included Winterbottom's top ten shootout debut and Bargwanna's charge through the pack in the final race in China.

"The team has working particularly well and I am confident that we can provide the drivers with some good car speed at Willowbank this weekend," said team owner Mark Larkham.

"It is unfortunate that we didn't test like the majority of Queensland based teams last week but we felt that the time was better spent getting the cars in absolute tip top condition after a less than ideal first half of the season due the damage sustained in recent events.

"With Winterbottom's recent speed and Bargs' strong results at Willowbank in the past we are looking for a good showing in front of our home crowd and Queensland based sponsors."
