Reindler ready for Sydney race seat
Karl Reindler says he’s ready to make his Supercars sprint round return at Sydney Motorsport Park next month as Lee Holdsworth’s replacement in the Team 18 Commodore.

The West Aussie was set to replace the injured Holdsworth at both Townsville and Queensland Raceway, but when the team needed to lease a chassis Reindler instead helped facilitate a deal that saw Kurt Kostecki make his main series debut.
However, with Team 18’s new Triple Eight-built Commodore set to be ready for the next round in Sydney, Reindler will finally be given the opportunity to make his first sprint round start since 2012.
The only snag in that plan would be if Holdsworth recovers in time to race at Sydney Motorsport Park, although a significantly more likely outcome is that Holdsworth will cut some exploratory laps in practice before handing over to Reindler for the races.
“I’m ready to go. Nothing is confirmed right now, but that’s how it’s looking,” he told Motorsport.com. “Hopefully Lee can get back in the car at Sydney Motorsport Park as well, at least for practice.
“It’s always been about the enduros for me, and it’s really just trying to make the best of an average situation. Kurt can take the experience of these two rounds back to the Dunlop Series, which will be great for him, and my job is to come in [for Sydney] and help the team pick up where they essentially left off from in Darwin.”
The second phase of the chassis build will begin soon, and the new car will be shaken down ahead of the Sydney round.
There will then be a proper pre-enduro test at Winton in September in preparation for the Sandown 500.
