This weekend at Pukekohe Raceway in New Zealand, Brad Jones Racing team mates Jason Bright and Fabian Coulthard have one goal in mind, to regain the Jason Richards Trophy.

The trophy was brought into the series last year to honour the late Jason Richards, who drove for Brad Jones Racing from 2009 and passed away in 2011 following a battle with cancer.

Jason Bright won the trophy last year for Team BOC and Brad Jones racing and would love nothing more than a back to back win.

"It would mean a hell of a lot to win it again," he said.

"Last year we managed to do the job and we've got a very competitive car at the moment so we just have to put the weekend together again.

"This event, having the trophy up for grabs, is a great way for us to all remember JR.

"This is the most exhilarating drivers' track that we go to so it's a fitting track and a fitting reminder about what JR was all about," Bright said.

Lockwood Racing's Fabian Coulthard understands the importance of the trophy to Brad Jones Racing.

"Thankfully the trophy went to Albury (BJR home base) last year and that was pretty special," he said.

"He was a great mate and obviously had a huge involvement here at BJR.

"Even though he's up there he's still travelled a hell of a lot of laps because he always rides with us with the JR Star (sticker) on the door."

Round 4 of the Championship begins on Friday with race one, followed by two races on Saturday and a race on Sunday.
