MCNALLY BLOWS OUT THE COBWEBS AT WINTON IN THE V8 UTES

Glenn McNally hit the track for the first time today at Winton Raceway for Round 2 of the V8 Utes Series where he completed two practice sessions and finished 13th fastest.

The first session used to familiarise Glenn with the circuit and make sure the car was running correctly so the lap times were not a great consideration.

The second session saw Glenn put new rubber on and give his Ute a workout in a bid to see how fast he can get around the winding country circuit.

"I gave it a good shot out there today," Glenn said.

"The session went well for us but there is still a lot for me to gain around this track."

An extra hurdle for the Holden Ute drivers this weekend is the reduction in maximum rev's the engine can pull, down to 5700rpm.

"The VE's are not totally suited to this circuit and the rev reduction just makes it a little harder," Glenn said.

Glenn is confident after today that he can put in a strong performance in tomorrow's qualifying.

"I will give it a red hot go on new rubber tomorrow and see where I end up," Glenn said.

"If I can get in the top ten I will be pretty happy because it gives us something to work with for the weekend."

Glenn has qualifying and race 1 tomorrow with race 2 and 3 on Sunday.
