MCNALLY LOOKING FOR WINTON REPEAT IN V8 UTES
Glenn McNally will be looking for a repeat of his exceptional performance in 2008 at Victoria's Winton Raceway as he heads to the popular circuit this weekend for round 2 of the V8 Utes Series.
After a solid start to the season at Adelaide's Clipsal 500, where he finished 9th overall, Glenn recently tested at Wakefield Park Raceway where he visited the NSW circuit twice, a week apart, in preparation for the Winton event. "I made some significant pace improvements over the two test days," Glenn said.
"Wakefield is a similar circuit to Winton so I hope that some of that pace can rub off this weekend."
With a second place in the reverse top 16 race last year and sixth overall, Glenn has plenty of pressure on him this weekend to back up that result.
"We are going to run with some good rubber from the start this weekend," Glenn said.
"I need to get a good feel for the grip of the car right from the start."
Glenn will take the same approach this weekend that has served him well in the past.
"Qualify as high as possible and then make sure I am in the top sixteen for the reverse race," Glenn said.
With Glenn's momentum building he is grateful for his sponsor support and also welcomes a new sponsor this weekend in Formula Tech.
"Brett has been a great help to us and we really appreciate his support," Glenn said.
Glenn has practice on Friday, Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday with Race 2 and 3 on Sunday.
